The Killers boys Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci have paid tribute to healthcare workers across the world by dedicating a performance of their recent single ‘Caution’ to them on Jimmy Fallon.
The duo have found themselves holed up together in Flower’s Las Vegas home while the world struggles to cope with the ongoing pandemic.
The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has himself been recording shows from his own home. He cut to Flowers and Vanucci brandishing an acoustic guitar and a grand piano after a somewhat incoherent riff on the title of The Killers new album Imploding the Mirage.
With Flowers on the keys and Vannucci on the acoustic, the pair said they wanted to “play a song for all the healthcare workers who are putting themselves out on the frontlines helping everybody in need”.
“We can’t tell you how much we appreciate that and how heroic that is. So thank you very much, and this song is for them,” Vannuci said before hitting the drum machine below him.
The guys launched into a stripped-back version of the track again highlighting that, if nothing else, this pandemic has certainly given us some excellent acoustic renditions we otherwise probably would never have gotten. Silver linings.
America has now taken the unfortunate title of worst affected country by the novel coronavirus with deaths topping 85,000. The neon gambling capitol where The Killers have taken shelter has been hit particularly hard as all of its major economic drivers like tourism and entertainment have ground to a halt.

The Killers announced the launch of a world tour to support the long-coming new album back in March. Dates around Oz are still set to go ahead and the group are going to hit Brisbane, Syndey, Melbourne, and Perth in November. However, it remains to be seen whether live events on this scale will be up and running by then. Fingers crossed.
