The suit worn by John Lennon on the cover of The Beatles’ Abbey Road album has been auctioned in a New Year’s Day sale in the US State of Connecticut. The suit fetched $US 46,000 in a memorabilia sale by auction house Braswell Galleries.
The off white suit was tailor made for Lennon by French designer Ted Lapidus in 1969, and is described as being very small. Auction house owner Kathy Braswell said “He was 5ft 10in and very thin. It’s a slim suit.”
