Ready to see a clip of the Bruce Springsteen biopic for the first time?

Springsteen‘s creative process during the making of his stripped-back 1982 album Nebraska will soon be brought to life on the big screen with the upcoming biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.

The first official trailer has been released, showcasing Jeremy Allen White’s portrayal of the iconic musician.

The trailer opens with White’s Springsteen settling into his New Jersey bedroom to record, telling his engineer Mike Batlan (played by Paul Walter Hauser): “Don’t need to be perfect. I want it to feel like I’m in the room by myself.” This intimate glimpse sets the tone for a film that appears to delve deep into the raw emotion behind one of Springsteen’s most introspective albums.

Jeremy Strong takes on the role of Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager, who fiercely defends the artist’s creative direction in a scene with Columbia Records executive Al Teller (David Krumholtz): “This is not about either one of us. This is not about the charts. This is about Bruce Springsteen. And these are the songs that he wants to work on right now.”

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, explores multiple facets of Springsteen’s life, including his challenging childhood under his father’s watch (portrayed by Stephen Graham), his romance with a woman named Faye (Odessa Young), and his electrifying stage performances. The trailer culminates with White performing “Born to Run” with remarkable intensity, sweat pouring down his face as he declares: “I’m trying to find something real in all the noise.”

Cooper, who both directed and wrote the script based on Warren Zane’s 2023 book Deliver Me from Nowhere, expressed how moving the experience was, stating: “Making Springsteen was deeply moving as it allowed me to step inside the soul of an artist I’ve long admired — and to witness, up close, the vulnerability and strength behind his music.”

The film also features Gaby Hoffman and Marc Maron in supporting roles. Production began in October 2024, with Springsteen himself visiting the set in November during a scene capturing the moment he purchased his first car, a Chevrolet Z28 Camaro. This scene appears early in the trailer, with White’s character responding to a car salesman’s recognition with a tellingly self-reflective line: “Well, that makes one of us.”

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is set to premiere in theatres in October, offering audiences an intimate look at the artist during a pivotal creative period in his storied career.
