The publicity campaign for the new Beady Eye record is going well, with Liam Gallagher wound up like a toy and slagging off everyone from his estranged brother to Thom Yorke of Radiohead. This time, Liam’s said that Yorke’s lyric writing skills aren’t up to scratch, no doubt forgetting that he wrote one of the most arse clenchingly awful lyrics of all time in the song ‘Little James’.

Gallagher Jr reckons “I heard that Radiohead record and I just go, ‘What?!’ I like to think that what we do, we do fucking well. Them writing a song about a fucking tree? Give me a fucking break!” said Gallagher, referring to the band’s new album The King of Limbs and the single “Lotus Flower.” “You’d have thought [Yorke would] have written a song about a modern tree or one that was planted last week. You know what I mean?”

We’ll remind you of the lyrics for ‘Little James’ Liam, which featured on Oasis’ 2002 album Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants

little james
we’re all the same
always seem to look to us
we weren’t meant to be grown ups
thank you for your smile
You make it all worth while
to us

live for your toys
even though they make noise
have you ever played with plasticine
even tried a trampoline
thank you for your smile
you make it all worthwhile
to us

i’m singing this song
for you and yer mom
and that’s all
it wont be long,
before everyone is gone

sailed out to sea
yer mom you and me
you swam the oceans like a child
life around us was so wild
thank you for your smile
you make it all worth while
to us

i’m singing this song
for you and yer mum
and that’s all
it wont be long
before everyone is gone

na na na na na na (fade out)

Sorry for it all being lower case but it’s not worth capitalising. No wonder Noel walked out. Pass us a bucket.
