ATARASHII GAKKO! are bringing their “The MARCHING OF AG!” tour Down Under this December, marking their Australian headline debut.

The powerhouse girl group will bring their fusion of J-pop, rap, and acid core to Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Melbourne’s Festival Hall, in addition to their appearance at Meredith Music Festival.

At Meredith, they will be joined by the likes of Japanese girl group Atarashii Gakko!, indie pop musician Perfume Genius, Syrian dabke-techno pioneer Omar Souleyman, UK drill rapper Pa Salieu, and TV on the Radio.

Several other acts have announced their own tours while in town, including Japanese-Canadian artist Saya Gray, TV on the Radio, and Perfume Genius.

ATARASHII GAKKO! have captured the world’s attention with their dance performances and high-energy live shows. Self-proclaimed “youth representative of Japan”, their name translates to “New School”. Their choreography is all their own, bringing their mission of embracing individuality to life.

The group debuted globally in 2021, six years after their formation. Their track “OTONABLUE” went viral on TikTok, amassing over 3.3 billion views.

They also released a documentary earlier this year, Seishun Inoshishi (Go Wild), which captured the final night of their 2024 tour at Tokyo’s iconic Yoyogi National Stadium.
