Just to draw your attention to the fact that we don’t only hang out in inner city music venues, festivals and seedy bars around Australia, we’ve gotten wind of a pretty cool music event happening in the Melbourne suburb of Oakleigh, with the Carnival of Suburbia which is being held around the Caravan Music Club at the Oakleigh RSL. For those of you who haven’t been there, this is one of Melbourne’s hidden secrets, with great live music line ups and RSL bar prices to boot!

The festival will feature ten days of live music at the Caravan Music Club at the Oakleigh RSL and conclude with a free day-long knees up of music at Oakleigh’s Warrawee Park. Hitting the stage will be acts such as The Blackeyed Susans, The Darling Downs (featuring Ron Peno and Kim Salmon), The DC3 and My Friend The Chocolate Cake.  The festival kicks off this Thursday and you can check out all the gigs and line ups at http://www.caravanmusic.com.au/.
