Oh dear. We guess it had to happen, but before we could even say ‘here we are now, entertain us’ to the proposition of the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s seminal Nevermind album, we’re informed that it has been re-released in the form of an iPad app.
The band’s 1991 breakthrough is being marketed by Universal Music Group in 2011 form with the release of Nirvana: Classic Album Nevermind being described as “interactive, socially aware, and internet connected”. The release features interviews with Nirvana’s surviving members and associates, live footage as well as the story of the Nevermind album cover.
Curiously, however, it doesn’t feature any of the album’s songs in full. Overall, it sounds just like the sort of thing that would make Kurt want to kill himself all over again.
