Yep, Loon Lake’s new single recalls Kings of Leon back when they were alcoholic trouble starters … oh hang on wait. Actually, before they became a bloated stadium band. There’s the trebly guitars and the rough hewn vocals and a nice insistent floor tom as they ride in to town on this bluesy rock ditty.

The yearning vocals of singer Sam recall Caleb Followill at his most hungover, but with a rhythm section that injects a real pop sensibility in to the track, it’s almost reminiscent of The Shins and Cheap Trick’s poppier moments. You can understand why these three brothers and two mates already seem to be sending girls across Australia all trembly at the knees.
