Finnish doom metallers Children of Bodom are heading down under for a tour this November. It’ll be their first time on these shores since 2008 and will allow fans the chance to see their melodic, guitar hook strewn metal live for the first time since the release of their current album Relentless Reckless Forever.
What may also be of interest to fans is seeing whether they perform any of the tracks from their previous album, 2009’s Skeletons In The Closet, a tongue in cheek titled cover album in which this fearsome band of Finnish metal warriors covered acts like errr… Britney Spears, Andrew WK, Billy Idol and perhaps some more familiar territory for fans with Slayer, Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper.
Since starting out in 1993, Children of Bodom has managed to avoid being labelled in the metal scene, with fans arguing as to whether their music should be defined as power metal, neo-classical metal, black metal, progressive metal, speed metal or melodic death metal. The tour will see the band take along Perth metal pigs Voyager, who are set to release their new album The Meaning Of I in October, as special guests.
