Look out boys – it’s cougar time, because the writers of ‘Maneater’ are coming our way. US soul popsters Hall & Oates are set to make a long anticipated and rumoured tour down under, hitting up Australia for a string of winery and theatre shows next February.

Since teaming up with each other in 1969, the pair clocked up six Number One signles in America during the height of their 1980s chart success, with the likes of ‘Private Eyes’, ‘Maneater’, ‘Rich Girl’ and ‘Out Of Touch’ becoming commercial radio staples and soundtracking many a night of your parents getting jiggy with each other at the time.

The tour will see them joined by comeback kings Icehouse, who seem to be everywhere at the moment.

Interestingly, there’s a strong connection between the Aussie legends and Hall & Oates. One of Icehouse’s greatest hits, ‘Electric Blue’ was co-written with John Oates of Hall & Oates, who had contacted Icehouse front man Iva Davies to tell him he was a fan. The two teamed up in Sydney to write the 1987 Number One hit, which also reached Number Seven on the American Billboard 100 charts.
