Alt-rock singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette is putting on a livestream benefit alongside the cast and producers of the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill for COVID-19 relief.
Taking place Monday, May 18th between 10AM and 11AM AEST, Alanis Morissette along with the cast and crew of Jagged Little Pill will host an evening of livestream titled You Live, You Learn.
With many out of work across the board, and COVID-19 effecting so many areas of life, the livestream is set to benefit the Actors Fund, which provides emergency relief to multiple members of the sector of professional theatre, as well as “fosters stability and resiliency” providing “a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan.”
Featured within the livestream will be performances and dialogues from the cast of the Jagged Little Pill Broadway musical, which is based from Alanis Morissette’s iconic album. Included will be special guests such as the Broadway show’s writer, Diablo Cody, alongside director Diane Paulus, orchestrator/arranger Tom Kitt, and choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.
According to Rolling Stone, the producers of the show is pretty stoked, stating: “Led by our spiritual guide Alanis Morissette, the entire Jagged Little Pill family is excited to come together to share music and our musical’s messages of joy, healing, resilience and gratitude.”
