Alex Lahey’s fans are undoubtedly over the moon right now, having received the first taste of the artist’s new album, and a series of national tour dates.

Back in late 2017, Alex Lahey released her long-awaited debut record, I Love You Like A Brother. A huge success, the album hit #15 on the Aussie charts, received a J Award nomination, and spawned a bunch of catchy singles.

Now, after plenty of hard work in the interim, Alex Lahey is back with a new single, album, and tour.

Announced today on triple j, Alex Lahey’s The Best Of Luck Club is set to be released this May, with a run of national tour dates kicking off not long after.

With much of the record being written in Nashville,Alex Lahey co-produced The Best Of Luck Club with Catherine Marks, known for her work with The Wombats, The Killers, Wolf Alice, and more.

Lyrically, the songs describe what Lahey calls “the highest highs and the lowest lows” of her life so far

“These songs are almost written for each patron of a dive bar,” Alex Lahey explains. “Because they’re so varied in the experiences that are being presented and it’s almost as if each one of the songs is someone’s day.”

“I feel writing these songs is me going into The Best Of Luck Club and reflecting and coming out with each individual song.”

While the album’s first single is set to drop later in the week, Lahey explained that ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ was written about the stress and fatigue of touring while being in a relationship.

The Best Of Luck Club is set to be released on May 17th, with the Alex Lahey’s national tour kicking off in Adelaide on June 6th. Check out all the details below.
