Ariana Grande has returned to Manchester for the first time since her One Love Manchester special charity concert in 2017, to perform at a Pride Event.

Popstar Ariana Grande has shown her love for the LGBTQ community by headlining a Manchester Pride Live event, which was apart of this year’s Manchester Pride Festival. This was the first time in two years that Grande has returned back to Manchester, which was the site of an incredibly tragic bombing at one of the artist’s concerts.

In 2017, Ariana performed in Manchester for her One Love Manchester charity event concert, a benefit that the artist herself organised for the victims of the terror attack which occurred just outside her Manchester arena concert in 2017.

Returning for the pride event, Grande performed songs like ‘Side to Side’, ‘7 Rings’, ‘Thank U, Next’ and ‘One Last Time’, even taking moments out of the concert to wish the crowds a “Happy Pride.”

She went on to address the audience, saying: “My heart has always, you know, the gays have always had my heart, personally. I spent some of the happiest times of my teenage years singing in gay bars in New York City. I was in a broadway show and whenever I finished a show I’d just go to a gay bar and sing Whitney Houston covers… thank you so much for accepting and celebrating me.”

You can watch the fan-filmed clip below, where Ariana takes a break from her setlist to thank the crowd at the Pride festival for accepting her and celebrating her.

Grande also shared an image of her Manchester Pride outfit, with the typical black heart caption underneath it.

This concert would have taken an immense amount of bravery and strength from the artist, who has had her fair share of tragedies in the past years, and yet still remains strong for her fans.
