We’re not quite sure when it started, but civilisation seems to have developed a renewed appreciation for a cappella groups in recent years. We can probably trace it back to High School Musical or something, but we guess things just work in 50-year cycles.

All of a sudden, Homer Simpson finding success with a barbershop quartet doesn’t seem as farfetched as it did when that episode first aired. Between YouTube and Pitch Perfect, a cappella music is having a full-blown resurgence that no one could’ve predicted.

Aunty Donna, the acclaimed Melbourne sketch comedy group comprised of Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane, have also noticed our newfound obsession with a cappella and decided to satirise it the only way they know how – with a batshit crazy sketch.
