Cult Australian alt-rockers Motor Ace have just announced an Australian tour this morning, marking 20 years as a band.

The band leapt to popularity at the dawn of the 2000s, signed to Festival Mushroom Records imprint Sputnik, alongside acts like Machine Gun Fellatio and 28 Days. Known for for their ARIA #4 debut Five Star Laundry, and chart-topping follow-up Shoot This (and, of course, their musical cameo in The Secret Life Of Us), the band split back in 2005 after their third record, Animal, failed to see the same success.

But having landed four tracks in the triple j Hottest 100, there’s been an army of fans eagerly awaiting news of a comeback, and the tour will hit up Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane, before wrapping up in their Melbourne home town, giving most of us a chance to get on board.

Of course, fans did have a chance to recapture a little of the glory two years back, when frontman Patrick Robertson and drummer Damian Costin reunited to form Nighthawk, no doubt laying the groundwork for the full-blown reunion we’re getting next year.

The tour will kick off in March of 2019, but tickets are on sale now and will be out the door fast, so check out the dates – along with their announcement video – below.
