Back in June, we wrote about rising Melbourne six-piece The Dead Heir, who went the genius route of promoting their pearler of a track ‘Wolves At My Door’ by unleashing a highly addictive browser-based video game set in Melbourne’s music scene.

The 8-bit platformed game was so addictive the entire Tone Deaf office were fighting to hit the highest score and after we wrote about it, so many of you decided to give it a try yourselves that the website actually crashed (our bad, boys).

Taking a leaf out of The Dead Heir’s book, Perth producer Sable has decided to give fans a preview of his latest EP, the eagerly anticipated URL LUV, by releasing four awesome web games and a comic book.

“Sable’s alter ego has escaped the recesses of his mind; the time of Shadow Sable is now,” a statement touting the producer’s latest project reads. “The idea behind Shadow Sable was to give producer John Dewhurst a creative outlet, un-restricted by a sound, genre or release schedule.”

“This is a SoundCloud of DJ tools that will make any dance floor heave. Expect long and short tracks, regular uploads, all with the same Sable standard in sound design and I-need-to-move-my-feet-NOW moments.”

The producer kicked things off by debuting the comic The New Adventures of Sable via his Facebook page early last month, periodically uploading new adventures as part of the build up to the release of the URL LUV EP, which drops Friday, 18th September.

If you’ve been following the comic, you’ll know that one of the major plot points revolved around five stolen USBs containing tracks from URL LUV. Fans now have a chance to hear the contents of the stolen USBs by solving the puzzles in each of the five games – play the latest here.
