Bad Bunny explained his worry that the Trump administration’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement could potentially target Latino fans at his concerts in the U.S.
In a recent interview with i-D, the Puerto Rican superstar addressed confusion over a notable lack of U.S. dates from his Debí Tirar Más world tour.
When asked if his decision stemmed from concern for Latino fans, Bad Bunny responded with a straightforward “Man, honestly, yes.”
The artist emphasised that his choice wasn’t motivated by animosity towards American audiences. “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times,” he explained. “All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent.”
Instead, he has focused on his current Puerto Rico residency, No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí, which has attracted fans from around the globe to the island, particularly loyal American fans.
“People from the U.S. could come here to see the show,” Bad Bunny noted, referring to Puerto Rico’s status as a U.S. territory. “Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world.”
However, Bad Bunny’s primary concern about performing in the continental U.S. was the potential presence of immigration enforcement. “But there was the issue of — like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

The Trump administration has shown a ruthlessly renewed focus on mass deportations — especially targeting Latino communities, targeting that Bad Bunny has always vocally opposed.
In June, he documented what appeared to be an ICE raid in Puerto Rico, posting a video to Instagram with the caption: “They came here… Sons of bitches, instead of letting the people alone and working.”
The artist’s stance reflects broader concerns within the Latino entertainment community about the impact of immigration enforcement on concert attendance and fan safety and creating safer spaces for his predominantly Latino fanbase.
Bad Bunny will launch the Debí Tirar Más Fotos tour on November 21 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, before travelling across Latin America through late February 2026.
The tour will then continue to European cities in spring 2026, with stops planned for Sydney, Australia, and Tokyo, Japan. Eight shows are scheduled at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros in December 2025, whilst Madrid will host 10 performances in June 2026.
