Remember in the old days how you had to cut a Big Day Out timetable out of the local music press or try and find a programme once you got to the gig to figure out what times the bands were playing on different stages? That’s all now old hat, as the Big Day Out has released an Android and iPhone app which has everything from Festival news and tweets in real time, line up info, artist bios, videos and photos plus in what is sure to be a winner, an animated virtual lighter so you can wave your phones in the dark during those sing along moments.
The Big Day Out also are offering those who download the app the chance to win flights and tickets to attend the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago this year. What you need to do is download the free app, attend one of the Big Day Out festivals and take photos at the event via the App. The photos taken are automatically stored into a Facebook album called BIG DAY OUT 2011 PHOTOS (you’ll need to be logged into Facebook to make this work).
After the event, enter the ‘Big Day Out Lollapalooza Competition’ at the Big Day Out Official Facebook Page, choose your picture that best captures the ‘SPIRIT OF THE BIG DAY OUT’ and upload.
