Melbourne two piece Big Scary are set to release their second single Gladiator off the back of their first single radio smash Mixtape. Both tracks are taken from debut album Vacation which hits shelves on Friday October 7th.
Member Tom Iansek says “Lyrically ‘Gladiator’ looks at the idea of growing up, but not necessarily improving as a person. There’s an assumption that getting older equals getting better; that the more books you read, the more music you listen to, the more information you absorb, the clearer things become, the more you have stuff figured out.”
He continues “However, I feel that more often the opposite occurs, and instead with age there’s often feelings of estrangement and growing distance. These are themes which flow throughout the album. ’Gladiator’ for me encapsulates a lot of the sentiment of the album.”
To coincide with the release of ‘Vacation’ Big Scary will be playing a selection of special intimate performances nation wide in October.
