Whip out your studded leather vests because new wave icon Billy Idol has announced that he will be returning to Australian shores next year for an East Coast run. The ‘White Wedding’ hitmaker will be touching down in January next year for his first tour since 2015.

The tour will kick off at Brisbane’s Riverstage on Friday 31 January, followed by a show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Saturday 1 February. 

Joining Idol are Melbourne rockers The Delta Riggs, who will be celebrating the release of their upcoming fourth record, Modern Pressure. Sydney punks The Kids will be bringing the ruckus as the opening act in Brisbane and Sydney.

In April last year, Billy Idol, John Travolta and Foo Fighters joined forces and collaborated together onstage. Idol joined the Fooeys onstage to perform a cover of John Lennon’s ‘Gimme Some Truth’, reimaging the track with a punk edge.

“I never in my wildest thought that I would be standing here with Billy Idol about rock this shit in front of 40,000 fucking people,” explained Dave Grohl before their performance. Read more about it now.
