Just last week, Bluesfest started to tease the upcoming announcement for the groundbreaking 30th anniversary edition of the festival. Now, the lineup has dropped and this year’s event is on track to be one of the biggest and best festivals ever seen by Aussie music fans.

Following on from a stunning 2018 event which saw the likes of the likes of Robert Plant, Lionel Richie, Tash Sultana, The New Power Generation and more performing stunning shows for eager punters, you could be forgiven for thinking that there was no way they could top that lineup.

However, you might want to make sure you’ve pulled your socks all the way up, because they might just be knocked right off with the stunning lineup organisers have in store for us next year.

Leading the charge for Bluesfest’s 30th anniversary celebration is Jack Johnson, and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, who will both be performing exclusively at Bluesfest. So if you’re keen to see two of the biggest names in blues and folk music, you might need to start booking your flights up to Byron Bay.

The lineup continues with Ray LaMontagne, Snarky Puppy, Kasey Chambers, and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, who will be performing their final shows as part of their appearance. An exclusive show by St Paul & The Broken Bones is also on the cards, while Nahko And Medicine For The People, Tommy Emmanuel, Colin Hay, and the great Arlo Guthrie also join the bill.

Keen for more? That’s cool, because that’s exactly what Bluesfest has in store for you, with Tex Perkins, Allen Stone, Richard Clapton, Russell Morris, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Vintage Trouble, and The Black Sorrows also on track to perform some stunning sets as well.

With a lineup this extensive, you can see why Bluesfest has to be a five-day festival, otherwise you wouldn’t have enough time to see all the brilliant artists. What’s more amazing is that this is just the first announcement for the festival, so you can only imagine what organisers still have in store for us.

“Our 30th Anniversary Bluesfest will be a MAJOR event in a long line of great festivals. We will only turn 30 once,” explained Bluesfest director Peter Noble, “and we intend to make this edition truly memorable!”

Festival and camping tickets to Bluesfest’s 30th anniversary are on sale now. Considering that this year’s event sold out once again, you can just imagine how fast tickets will be walking out the door for the 2019 edition. Check out the full lineup below, and start plotting all the brilliant acts you’re going to see!
