Yesterday, The Raconteurs released their first new music in over a decade. Bluesfest have just announced that they will be bringing the legendary band down under for the 30th edition of the festival.

This will mark the bands’ debut appearance in Australia. The Raconteurs released their seminal debut record Consolers of the Lonely in 2008. They are currently working on the follow-up record set for release next year.

The Raconteurs will play on Easter Monday, 22nd of April. There has been no word yet as to whether they’ll be playing shows outside the festival, but we can only hope.

Bluesfest Festival Director, Peter Noble has shared:

“It’s not every day you get to have a simultaneous worldwide announcement of one of the world’s great bands, The Raconteurs, known in Australia as The Saboteurs. The members include Jack White, who is someone I have wanted to present at Bluesfest for a very long time. In fact, this began as a Jack White headline performance, but literally morphed into The Saboteurs when the guys decided to get back together again after 10 years, and Bluesfest has the ONLY announced show in the world currently.”
