Bobby Brown and the estate of Kristina Bobby Brown have filed a lawsuit against BBC and Showtime over the 2017 Whitney Houston documentary WHITNEY: Can I Be Me. The suit claims Brown never signed a release for the film to use footage from his 2005 TV series Being Bobby Brown” NBC News confirms.

The lawsuit also claims that Brown and his late daughter’s estate never gave permission for their likeness to be involved in the documentary at all. It also claims that the documentary credit’s Brown’s company Brownhouse Entertainment at the end, making it seem like they gave permission for the footage to be used.

The lawsuit is asking for $2 million and an injunction to end promotion and distribution of the film for good. Watch the trailer for the film below.
