Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon is not a fan of the song he made with Eminem

Less than a day after the surprise release of his new album Kamikaze, Eminem has come under fire from one of the contributors over the message of one of the tracks. Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon has tweeted about his involvement on the track “Fall”, and doesn’t seem too happy with how it turned out.

In a series of tweets, Vernon explained that he was not in the studio when the track was made and call the message of the song “tired”. The message he’s speaking about is probably the line about Tyler The Creator; “Tyler create nothin’, I see why you called yourself a f****t, bitch”.

In the series of tweets, Vernon said he asked for the track to be changed, and also called Eminem out for using homophobic slurs (again). You’d think that at this point the artist wouldn’t have to be told to stop casually throwing out the F word, but apparently that’s not the case.

The final tweet in the series cryptically says “I was wrong and we are gonna kill this track“. Which could mean multiple things but at this point we’re not entirely sure… Pitchfork reached out to both Vernon and Eminem’s representatives for comments but have heard nothing so far.

Vernon released the debut album as Big Red Machine with Aaron Dessner of The National yesterday. You can listen to that here, and you can listen to the Eminem track Vernon worked on below.
