Billboard has just released a list of the top 25 grossing tours in the States for 2010 and U2 have been pipped to the top spot by everybody’s mothers favourite rocker Bon Jovi.

Nearly 1.6 million people came out to see the sex rock god this year, racking in revenues of $147 million. Just behind are regular fixtures on these kind of lists, U2, who had 1.3 million attendees and earned a cool $131 million.

Rounding out the top 3 are Australian rockers AC/DC. Impressively they had 1.1 million drive out in their pick up trucks to stadiums for the 28 shows they played across the US, 19 of which were sell-outs. AC/DC collected $122 million for their efforts.

The rest of the top 10 includes Lady Gaga ($166 million), Black Eyed Peas ($81 million), James Taylor & Carole King ($62 million), Eagles ($62 million), Metallica ($61 million), Dave Matthews Band ($61 million), and Paul McCartney ($55 million).
