From the critically acclaimed Swedish singer-songwriter, Jonna Lee comes the ambient, synth, dream, and trip-hop electro sounds of iamamiwhoami.

“B” starts off with an instrumental ambience that welcomes the introduction of a basic piano roll. Lee’s spoken vocals replicate sounds of a futuristic droid with female tendencies. More of an introduction to the album, the track really invites you inside to make yourself at home.

Second track “O” features a deep metallic kick sound that suggests an action of escape. Perhaps some dark secrets the songstress isn’t keen to spill?

“O” will prop you upright in contemplation of a dance.

A few strange key changes keep iamamiwhoami in a unique field of their own and it doesn’t go un-noticed with two-part song “U-1” and “U-2” serving as a huge contrast.

The latter really tears into a new musical star system with heavy bass and electronic synths surging away. Enjoyable melodies entangle the remainder of the songs ‘sound-estate’.

It would be a lie to say the two tracks that follow provoke many new feelings and the vibe becomes a little stagnant. Looking at both sides of the gun, that’s where the beauty of ambient music comes into play – as general sounds they work great as filler tracks!

To round off an excellent adventure of an album, Bounty has nailed the close out with three killer tracks – “Y”, “John” and “Clump”.

An unusual set of track names, along with some unusual sounds make for a casually unusual album.
