The legendary Bruce Springsteen has finally sold out by starring in an ad for Jeep that aired during the Super Bowl.

The ad marks Springsteen’s first-ever commercial appearance, which is quite the feat considering his career has spanned over 50 years.

For whatever reason, the commercial focuses on urging America to unite after its period of political turmoil.

Dubbed ‘The Middle’, the 2-minute long ad sees Springsteen sit in his own 1980 CJ-5 Jeep while a patriotic voiceover plays.

“All are more than welcome to come meet here in the middle,” he says.

“It’s no secret the middle has been a hard place to get to lately, between red and blue, between servant and citizen, between our freedom and our fear. Now fear has never been the best of who we are, and as for freedom, it’s not the property of just the fortunate few, it belongs to us all. Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, it’s what connects us, and we need that connection. We need the middle,” he continues.

“We just have to remember the very soil we stand on is common ground, so we can get there. We can make it to the mountaintop through the desert, and we will cross this divide. Our light has always found its way through the darkness. And there’s hope on the road up ahead.”

It’s certainly a powerful monologue, if not a little out of place in an advertisement for cars.

According to Jeep manufacturer Stellantis, Springsteen was heavily involved in both writing and scoring the ad.

On top of waxing lyrical about the political climate, Springsteen is also seen writing in a notebook, lighting a candle, putting on a hat, opening a car and of course, driving.
