American hip-hop artist Chance the Rapper has pulled out of his Splendour in the Grass performance, just 24 hours before he was scheduled to go on stage.

This news left Splendour organisers with minimal time to find a replacement, but, luckily enough, Hilltop Hoods have stepped up to the occasion.

The Australian group will now step up for the headline set, which was set to be a 75 minute exclusive Chance the Rapper performance.

In a statement posted to Facebook, the rapper’s team confirmed the cancellation.

”It is with great regret we announce that Chance The Rapper will not be coming to Australia to perform at Splendour in the Grass. Unfortunately, due to illness he is unable to fly.”

According to Splendour organiser Paul Pittico, organisers of the massive event received the news just a few hours ago, and have been scrambling to find a replacement ever since.

Luckily, Hilltop Hoods stepped up at the last minute, with members abandoning holidays and making flight arrangements swiftly.

The group will perform tomorrow night’s closing set.
