Heavy goth music icon Chelsea Wolfe has released yet another vision into her dark and solitary world, with a brand new video for ‘Be All Things’.

The brand new song comes off Wolfe’s upcoming acoustic album Birth of Violence, which is her first return to acoustic music since 2012’s absolutely mesmerising album Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs.

The video in question is an unusually bright turn for the artist, who usually hides away in darkened shadows, all dressed in black. Of course, there is still plenty of dark attire to fawn over in this clip, but Wolfe is instead outdoors in the sunlight, showcasing the beauty and the mystery of the Icelandic landscapes where the video was shot.

Chelsea Wolfe even made sure to notify fans about the locale, writing in the video description:

“For those concerned, we were very careful to keep off the Icelandic moss 🖤”

With haunting lyrics, the artist moves from cave to foggy landscape to forest, her voice swimming over acoustic guitar in the way only she knows how to do so masterfully. The song opens with
“walking the old path turned me towards death / the ravens woke at dawn / and daylight plumed my skin / then the air was full, simply composed of prey”, and we can’t help but melt.

This is an excellent return to form for the artist, who has spent her last three albums mastering her craft in the field of absolutely heavy goth/metal music. Rising to the spotlight with her heartbreaking way with words and destructive use of reverb, Chelsea Wolfe has cemented her place in the scene, and we can’t wait for Birth of Violence.

For those uninitiated with Chelsea Wolfe, her voice is much akin to a siren’s calling you to your death in the Black Lagoon. Don’t believe me, just hear for yourself.
