Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton has just unveiled a new song, and it features vocals from none other than late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington.
Back in 2017, the music world was undoubtedly shocked to hear that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington had passed away at the age of 41.
A prolific musician, it has since been revealed that there a number of unreleased collaborations that Bennington took part in, including one recorded with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash.
However, back in October, Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton revealed his collaboration with Bennington was still on the way.
Morton first alluded to the collaboration in April of 2017, sharing a selfie with Bennington in the studio, while explaining their music “sounds KILLER too!” Responding to some fans last year though, our hopes were again raised that this collaboration would see the light of day.
“Chester and I made some really cool music together that we were both SUPER stoked about,” Morton revealed. “And you will hear it!”
Now, we have indeed heard it, with their long-awaited collaboration being released today.

Premiering as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Beats 1, ‘Cross Off’ is the first single released from Mark Morton’s debut solo album, Anesthetic, which is set for release in March.
Featuring Morton’s brilliant guitarwork, it’s certainly somewhat bittersweet to be hearing Chester Bennington on a new track, almost one-and-a-half years after his passing.
Speaking of his time working with Bennington, Morton explained that their time together “was a very free flowing and natural process.”
“We both really loved the song from its inception and everyone that worked on it put a lot of energy and emotion into it,” he explained. “I feel like you can really hear that in the track, and absolutely in Chester’s performance.”
“This album wasn’t a concerted effort to start something outside Lamb of God,” Morton stated of his new record. “Music is always in my head, and until I write and record it, it’s stuck there. But once I record it, it’s out. It’s a catharsis, more for my own sanity.”
Mark Morton’s Anesthetic is out on March 1st, with pre-orders available now. Check out the full tracklist and artwork below.
