Barrelling back in to the spotlight with the raw rock n’ roll skulduggery of the first single of their as yet untitled third album, The Vasco Era’s latest offering is a gritty slab of  rock n’ roll damnation that does justice to their scintillating live show.  Thudding bass and thundering power chord progressions with a tambourine on the cymbals recall the incendiary explosion of the ahem John Spencer Blues Explosion and The Stooges.

Indeed front man Sid spits out the chorus with an unbridled passion which only serves to heighten the restrained malevolence of the verses in a way that would make Iggy proud. It’s down and dirty garage rock with a knowing wink to artists of the past and indeed it puts a size 10 boot up the arse of every angelic voiced folkie band clogging up the airways at the moment – this is rock n’ roll. Testify brother!
