After many unexpected delays, K-pop soloist Chung Ha will finally release her first studio album Querencia on February 15th.

K-pop soloist Chung Ha has been worming her way into our hearts and playlist with a steady stream of bangers for some time. Now, she’s opening 2021 with a long-awaited announcement: Chung Ha’s first studio album, Querencia, will be out on February 15th.

The singer announced the release earlier today with a series of teasers preceding the reveal of the track-list. We’ll get to see an introduction to the album on January 19th, when she releases the pre-release single ‘X (걸어온 길에 꽃밭 따윈 없었죠) (No Flower Garden On The Way).’

Also featuring on the album are ‘Stay Tonight’ and ‘Dream Of You’, her 2020 singles, the latter with DJ R3HAB.

While we wait for more information, fans have already started theorizing about some of the tracks. One of these is ‘별하랑 (Byulharang) 160504 + 170607’. While the word ‘Byulharang’ refers to Chung Ha’s fans, the numbers are dates of her debuts: she first debuted with the group I.O.I. in 2016, and later went solo in 2017.

Querencia comes after a long wait for K-pop fans. The album was originally slated for release on January 4th, with the pre-release single coming out on December 10th, 2020.

On December 7th, however, her agency confirmed that she had been diagnosed with COVID-19 after coming into contact with a suspected positive case.

The singer released a statement at the time comforting her fans, saying: “I’m sorry and sorry again. I tried to be careful, but I guess it wasn’t enough. I was also urgently notified today and just found out. I’ll return again and promote in good health! Our Byulharang should also be careful and careful once more!”
