Originally born in Ghana, then moving to the Capital of Australia while still very young, Citizen Kay has grown up with an ambition to make his way into the music scene. Beginning as an aspiring songwriter with a love of hip-hop, he began rapping under the name ‘Kay’. Since 2008 Kay has become well known for rapping and all round music skills in the Capital. He has written, produced and recorded songs for himself and collaborated with many others, gaining a reputation as ‘the go-to guy’ for other artists around town.
Focusing on honing his beat making and building his reputation, Citizen Kay is set to release his debut EP in April. Included on the forthcoming release is ‘Ansah Brothers’ featuring Kay’s little brother Genesis Owusu. The track has a cool cheeky clip accompanying it and follows the brothers on a night excursion to a driving range.
