This weekend’s Coachella festival in Indio, California saw huge crowds of up to 75,000 a day traipsing in to the desert but a few of the bands didn’t make it. They were grounded in the UK due to the ash from the volcano eruption in Iceland. The Cribs with Johnny Marr, Frightened Rabbit, and Bernard Sumner’s new outfit Bad Lieutenant were among a number of acts that had to pull out as their flights remained grounded. Luckily the skies over the Pacific made it a breeze for Cut Copy to make it over, while The Temper Trap made it in from Europe in time.
