Next month, a priceless bit of music memorabilia will be hitting Bonhams auction house. The console used to record some of the most significant contributions to music will go under the hammer.
As COS notes, The Helioscentric Helios Console is a combination of two consoles. One belonged to Island Records’ Basing Street Studio 2 and was used by a plethora of iconic musicians such as Led Zeppelin (on the album IV), David Bowie, Beck, The Rolling Stones. The other, Alvin Lee’s Helios console from Space Studios was used to record music from George Harrison, Ron Wood, Steve Winwood, Tim Hinckley, Jim Capaldi and Mick Fleetwood.
The amalgamation of the two consoles was recently used Paul Weller, Supergrass, Sia, Keane, KT Tunstall, Turin Brakes, Squeeze, Paolo Nutini, Dido, Gary Barlow, David Gray, Royworld, Toploader, Marti Pellow and the Pet Shop Boys.
Bonhams’ “Entertainment Memorabilia” auction, kicks off on December 11th.
