Imagine posting an ad where you’re looking for a singer for your Slipknot tribute band, only to have the main man himself, Corey Taylor, respond to your ad…well, that’s just what happened to a recent Craigslist poster.
Although he’s mad busy with both Slipknot and Stone Sour, leading lad Corey Taylor seems to have a little extra time on his hands still, and has responded to a Craigslist ad of a Slipknot tribute band who were seeking a new lead vocalist.
The ad in question was posted to Craigslist with the title “Established Slipknot tribute seeking accurate, dedicated Corey Taylor.”
From New Jersey, the collective in question calls themselves as “an established Slipknot tribute band, dubbed the most accurate Slipknot tribute in the world” who focuses on “their 1999-2001 album and touring cycle, and plan on moving through the other eras.”
Wanting to be the most legitimate tribute band, the advertisement called for the singer not only to be up to the same standard as Corey Taylor in their vocals, but wants “someone in the same or near same physical shape as Corey Taylor, 5’8,” as well for the singer to have the same vocal range, proper stage experience and “be able to command a crowd and act the part.”
Additionally, the singer must have “multiple jumpsuits” and “be dedicated”.
With such a job description, who would be more perfect for the part than Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor himself? That must’ve been what Taylor thought himself, as he responded to the advertisement.

Taking to Twitter, Taylor shared a link of the advertisement, shouting out to the posters that “if you’re interested, I’m also sitting at 166 lbs.”
