The only thing more iconic than the slew of hits Counting Crows produced that featured heavily in the Shrek soundtrack was the frontman’s questionable dreadlocks. We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Mr. Duritz has bid farewell to his problematic do. Whilst we love and support Duritz unconditionally, a white dude with dreadlocks in the year 2019 did leave a sour taste in our mouths.

Duritz’ life-changing decision was unveiled in an Instagram post. “Oh yeah, I flew to London and shaved my head! Anarchy In The UK indeed motherfuckers!!!” he wrote.

Back in January, Counting Crows shared the unreleased, titular track from their debut 1993 record August and Everything After. The song was re-recorded last November with composer Vic Mendoza and the London Studio Orchestra.

“I never really thought much about this song back in the day because it wasn’t finished,” Duritz shared at the time. “But when we got the chance to work with Vince Mendoza, I thought it was a good time to rewrite it and get it right.”
