Jimmie Allen’s new collaboration with Noah Cyrus headlines this week’s New Country Friday 5!
Not far behind it is an absolute party banger from emerging US artist Adam Sanders and friends.
A new track from Kenny Chesney’s album is also featured along with new tunes from local indies Kate Hindle and Benny Allen.
So lets go!
1. JIMMIE ALLEN & NOAH CYRUS – ‘THIS IS US’
Jimmie Allen grabbed everyone’s attention last year with his meg-debut single ‘Best Shot.’
It triumphantly claimed the #1 spot on US country radio for three weeks!
Originally written by Cyrus herself and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, this song found it’s way to Allen via his producer Ash Bowers.
“I didn’t have a song, a duet, that felt like that … I just wanted a collaboration,” Allen told The Boot.
“I think it’s a great song, and when I heard it, I was honoured that they’d even let me sing on it.”
Cyrus has since joined him in the song and a music video isn’t too far away.
Allen will make his first trip to Australia shortly as part of the 2020 CMC Rocks QLD festival line-up next month.
He’ll also support Kip Moore at shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

2. ADAM SAUNDERS & FRIENDS – ‘RULED THE WORLD’
“There’d be a lot more kissing and a lot more loving … if a beer drinking, trucking driving, boot wearing boy like me, ruled the world,“ sings Adam Saunders and his buddies on this new country banger!
‘Ruled The World’ is a lighthearted take on all of the political craziness that’s going on all over the country these days,” according to US artist Adam Saunders.
90s country faves Tracy Lawrence, Aaron Tippin and Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon and Mike McGuire will feature in the upcoming music video.
Hunter Phelps, Ray Fulcher, Cash Campbell, Faren Rachels, Josh Mirenda, Mitch Rossell and Drew Parker also feature on the song and in the video.
“It was such a blast to be able to cut up and have fun at the shoot,” Sanders told One Country.
“It was unbelievable for me and the other artists, who grew up on ’90s country music, to have Tracy, Aaron, Marty and Mike star in the video with us.”
Sanders has some huge songwriter credits to his name.
He’s a co-writer of Luke Bryan’s song ‘Out Like That’, Cole Swindell’s ‘Ain’t Worth The Whiskey’ and Dustin Lynch’s ‘Hell of a Night.’

3. KATE HINDLE – ‘BROKEN MIND’
‘Broken Mind’ from West Australian artist Kate Hindle, is about the aftermath of losing someone and the grief and destruction that follows the ending of a relationship.
“Releasing this song was absolutely petrifying for me as ‘Broken Mind’ is one of the most vulnerable songs I’ve ever written…” said Hindle on social media earlier this week.
“…it has my broken and fragile heart in it and to share that is scary,” she continued.

4. KENNY CHESNEY – ‘HERE AND NOW’
‘Here And Now’ is Chesney’s followup to his recent US top 10 hit ‘Tip Of My Tongue’
It was co-written by gun songwriters Craig Wiseman, David Garcia and David Lee Murphy.
The always mild mannered Chesney has a new album on the way, and recently gave some insight to fans on where he is at musically on social media.
“The best part about songwriting and getting in the studio is that music always surprises you… if you stay open, keep listening and let it show you where it wants to go,” said Chesney on Instagram. page.
“I think we’re dialing in a pretty cool record that represents me and every single person who’s a member of @noshoesnation,” he continued.
“There really is no better compass than all of you. #noshoesnation has more heart, more passion, more love of life, and if I can be true to you, then I feel like we got it.”
“I’m ready to get the next wave of my life on in full. I can’t wait for you to hear some of these songs…”
Earlier this week, Chesney was named Humanitarian of the Year by Country radio broadcasters in the USA.

5. BENNY ALLEN – ‘PLACES I’VE NEVER BEEN’
Described as “a country rock song” with “elements of that classic Oz rock,” ‘Places I’ve Never Been’ is the new tune from Independent Country Music Awards winner Benny Allen.
The song and grew out of Benny thinking about everything he’d been able to achieve and see since he started playing music live.
“I’ve been getting out and about in Victoria and getting out to towns I haven’t been to before and meeting all these fantastic people,” Allen says.
“I get to do all of this because of music and get to places I’ve never been and there was the idea for a song, so I just let the imagination run wild.”
