The Buckleys have gone to the top of the national country airplay chart this week with their new label debut, ‘Daydream.’
It’s the first time they have topped The Music Network’s country airplay chart.
In June it was announced that The Buckleys had signed with Petrol Records, the label created by former INXS manager Christopher M. Murphy. And he sees the band as an international proposition.
“Any project I get involved in, whether an act or product, has to be an international project,” Murphy told TMN.
“From the start, you’re priming them for the international market. I wouldn’t be involved just for the Australian market.”

Darlinghurst, who went to the top of the chart last week, with their debut single ‘Sorry Won’t Get You Back’ sit at #2 this week.
Recent Sony Music Australia signing Brad Cox goes into the top 10 at #7 with ‘Rusty Strings.’
While ‘Young Again’ from Morgan Evans (at #9) and ‘Pretty Little Fools’ (at #10) from Fanny Lumsden also return to the top ten.
Debuting in the chart this week are Kip Moore at #29 with ‘She’s Mine,’ Mick Lindsay at #35 with ‘If You’re Sleeping,’ Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins’ ‘Hell Right’ at #38, The Sunny Cowgirls with ‘Raining Pineapples’ at #44, Stephanine Penrose at #46 with ‘Don’t Make It Easy’ and Chris Lane at #49 with ‘I Don’t Know About You.’
Expect to see Casey Barnes, Jasmine Rae and Kelsea Ballerini in the chart very soon following multiple additions of their latest singles to popular country station playlists recently.
