New York hardcore veterans Cro-Mags have announced their first new album in 20 years, In the Beginning. The album will arrive on June 19th via Arising Empire/Mission Two Entertainment.

In the Beginning marks the first full-length offering from the band since 200’s Revenge. 2019 saw Cro-Mags release two EPs, Don’t Give In and From The Grave.

The band have shared the first single off the forthcoming record, ‘The Final Test’, which you can listen to here.

“It’s a crazy time in the world right now. People are afraid, people are dying, and until we get a grip on the situation we are all stuck in our homes. Many are out of work, we are losing a lot of people,” frontman Harley Flanagan shared in a Facebook post.

As a musician I feel it is my job to try to give you something, especially in times like this; we are all stuck at home, we need entertainment we need music and we need to give each other a helping hand, so as a FREE gift to our fans, we rushed to give you an exclusive new song from our upcoming album…”

March saw the band live stream an in-studio performance after the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel their scheduled New York show with Body Count.

Last year, the classic members of Cro-Mags were embroiled in a legal settlement over the use of the band name. There are now two iterations of the band — the band led by bassist Harley Flanagan are known as Cro-Mags, whilst the band featuring John Joseph, Mackie Jayson, A.J. Novello and Craig Setari are known as Cro-Mags JM.
