Dan Sultan has announced a ‘secret’ last-minute to treat dedicated fans in his hometown of Melbourne.

Designed as warm-up show for the singer-songwriter and his band before he kicks off his Australian Blackbird album tour next week, Sultan will take to the stage of Melbourne’s Ding Dong Lounge tonight (Friday 20th June) for a full headline set, complete with support from Carl Russo and a special DJ guest set from Way Of The Eagle collaborator, Jan Skubiszewski.

Tickets are only a budget $15, but will only available on the door of the Market Lane CBD venue, so make sure you get to Ding Dong early to avoid disappointment.

Dan Sultan’s forthcoming tour is the musician’s biggest yet, seeing him play 20 dates over a nearly two month stretch as he visits capital cities and regional areas in support of his new album Blackbirdwhich “epitomises everything a good Australian rock album should be,” according to our Tone Deaf reviewer.

“A perfectly balanced blend of big band rock n’ roll matched with soft, soulful ballads,” Dan Sultan’s third album features “strong themes pertaining to the Australian experience with the passionately laid-back attitude that our culture is renowned for.”

Sultan and his backing band will be back in top form for the forthcoming tour, having delivered noteworthy performances earlier in the year – opening for Bruce Springsteen and Sultan’s own headline dates in support of the ‘Under Your Skin’ single.
