Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl seems to be doing the round on children’s television lately, appearing in an upcoming episode of Sesame Street.
While the Foo Fighters aren’t busy touring the world and releasing chart-topping albums, it seems as though Dave Grohl is off realising his dream of being a superstar in the world of children’s television.
Having recently appeared as a guest on Nickelodeon’s Ryan’s Mystery Playdate, the grunge icon has now made his way over to the gold standard of educational television, turning up on an upcoming episode of Sesame Street, with his appearance actually being filmed last year.
With the 50th anniversary season of Sesame Street set to begin airing on November 16th, it seems as though they’ve got a bunch of special guests on board. Sharing a teaser online overnight, the classic program showed Dave Grohl teaming up with Big Bird and Elmo for a new musical number.
“It’s nice to come here and be with my friends Big Bird and Elmo,” Grohl explains in the clip. “You know, I was just thinking, there’s friends everywhere, even the ones that you don’t know.”
Explaining to Big Bird that there’s “lots of people all across America that we could be friends with, we just haven’t met them yet”, the trio kick off a lively rock number called ‘Here We Go’, which depicts them going on a whirlwind trip across the continental US while making friends along the way.
Needless to say, it’s classic Sesame Street content, mixed in with the joyful musical exuberance that only Dave Grohl can bring.

We’re not sure which kids’ show is next on his list, but the next time he’s in Australia, we reckon it’s about time we had him as a guest on Play School.
