David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones has paid tribute to his father on the fifth anniversary of his death.
Taking to Twitter, Jones said it was “remarkable” that Bowie is still “so clearly loved” years after his passing
“Today marks five years since dad died… we are all a little sad, coping individually in our own ways,” he wrote.
“But it’s both remarkable & delightful that dad is still so clearly loved by so many. Yes, he’s missed… but with so much of “him” in the work he made, he’s clearly still here.”
A number of musicians also paid tribute to Bowie in a live stream event called A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day.
The likes of Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Boy George, Perry Farrell, Peter Frampton, Corey Taylor, Yungblud, Anna Calvi and Duran Duran honoured Bowie by performing some of his most popular songs.
One of the standout performances came from Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who covered the 1979 track ‘Fantastic Voyage’, as well as 1980’s ‘Fashion’.

“In the early nineties, David said to me, keep an eye on this next singer. He’s someone to be reckoned with,” host Mike Garson said in his introduction of Reznor.
