Denzel Curry released a new song over the weekend, entitled ‘IM JUST SAYIN THO’. Curry uploaded the track, which features fellow emcee Tommy Swisher, to Youtube yesterday.

Curry captioned the video: “Just because we need music and happiness at a time like this. Enjoy”.

The release of ‘IM JUST SAYING THO’ came as a surprise to fans on social media. The Georgian rapper had not dropped any hints that he planned to share new music.

It has already been a big year for Denzel Curry, who has spent a lot of his time featuring on other artist’s tracks.

Earlier in May, he appeared on JPEGMafia’s remix of ‘BALD!’, which was a chart hit for Curry’s collaborator earlier this year.

Curry also appeared on ZillaKami and SosMula’s track, ‘Draino’, in April.

Perhaps most intriguing of all is the upcoming release of Curry’s UNLOCKED comic book, based on his most recent EP. The 48-page comic book was first unveiled in April, and will hit shelves on June 26th.

The UNLOCKED adaptation isn’t Curry’s first foray into the comic book scene; Curry first announced his intentions to release a comic book in 2017, based on his song ‘Black Metal Terrorist’. While those plans didn’t come to fruition, Curry is adamant that the UNLOCKED comic book will be released.

“I always wanted artwork to accompany the film and the album,” Denzel revealed in April, “it just made sense.”

“On Imperial (Curry’s second studio album), we put out a zine with unreleased photos from the album cover shoot and previous tour run. With UNLOCKED, I wanted to do another booklet, it just made sense to turn it into a comic.”

Curry also released UNLOCKED: Instrumentals earlier in May, which featured tracks from his latest EP without vocals.
