Devendra Banhart obviously took the old showbiz maxim of ‘break a leg’ – frequently used by those in the entertainment business to wish artists good luck for their gig – a little bit too literally. He fell off his skateboard and has had to cancel the rest of his US tour. In a statement on his website www.devendrabanhart.com he said:
“So your old pal Devendra just broke some bone in his leg skateboarding before the show yesterday. I wanted to play the shows anyway like in a bed or something but the dr’s didn’t think that was a great idea.”
Tone Deaf suspects that if he got a haircut and didn’t have that straggly hippy hair getting caught up in his skateboard axel, this may not have happened.
