Still a bit down about Download Festival being cancelled this year? Well, they’ve got a virtual instalment on the way, and it’s headlined by some big, rockin’ names.
The world has missed out on a ton of great gigs this year, including us Aussies missing out on the stellar lineup Download Festival had to offer this year.
Well, the flagship event from the U.K. have announced their lineup for their new virtual festival, and at the helm are Iron Maiden, Kiss, and System Of A Down.
The festival is set to be the first online virtual program to come from Download Festival, and will feature heaps of exclusive footage such as previously unseen performances, as well as interactive content that will be streamed across social media.
Kicking off Friday, June 12th Kiss’ set from their 2015 Download Festival will be on offer, while Saturday night will have Iron Maiden “bringing something very special to the screens with nostalgic performances, Legacy Of The Beast snippets, and something just for Download TV,” they’ve said in a statement.
Sunday night will see the festival wrap up with System Of A Down performances streamed from 2005, 2011, and 2017.
The virtual festival will additionally see content from Babymetal, Bowling For Soup, Creeper, The Darkness, Deftones, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Korn, The Offspring, and more.

Keen to get in on the action? The festival will be on from Friday, June 12th until Sunday, June 14th, all as a part of Download TV. The festival is also encouraging the viewers to try to emulate the festival, and be as interactive as possible:
