While we all patiently wait for the highly anticipated Certified Lover Boy album, Drake continues to make headlines. And now in the latest news, it looks like the Billboard Awards have called and want to tell the ‘In My Feelings’ rapper that he’s officially the Artist of the Decade.
With the highly coveted accolade being won by Mariah Carey in the 1990s and Eminem in the 2000s, Drake is the latest artist to put his name on the mantle.
Even without knowing all of the data which forms the basis of Drake’s latest achievement, it’s really not too much of a shock to hear about his recent huge achievement. It’s more like, ‘Oh, you know what, the guy’s killing it. That makes total sense.’
The guy drops a song and somehow it’s an immediate banger. After all, he is a pop star, not a rockstar. Anyways, looks take a look at the data which has seen Drake rise above the rest.
As per Billboard, the Artist of the Decade is monitored from December 5th 2009 to September 28th 2019. And specifically, the artist’s performance on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the Billboard Hot 200 chart, as well as social media data and touring revenue.
And when it comes to Drake’s decade in review, over the past decade he has landed nine No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart as well as 33 top songs on the chart. He’s also smashed six No.1 songs on the Hot 100 chart.
Furthermore, he’s risen above all other artists with the most No. 1 songs on the Hot 100 chart, And that’s not all. He also has the most N0. 1 and Top 10 songs on the Hot Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
