The good old Dunies, or Dune Rats for the uninitiated. Love ’em or love ’em, you know exactly who they are, one of Australia’s most entertaining bands out at the moment, and an absolute staple in music festivals across the country.

And now fans, rejoice, for Dune Rats are heading out an Aussie run of shows, where they will be the headline act.

The tour, which has been beautifully titled the Crowd Smurfing Tour, will see the trio stop by The Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne on 12 September then head to Metro Theatre in Sydney and The Triffid in Brisbane.

They’ll be joined on the tour by Adelaide’s West Thebarton and Auckland’s Miss June.

Dune Rats just premiered their latest track ‘Rubber Arm’ on triple j, and dropped the addictive power rock jam ‘No Plans’ back in June. Check out the song below, full of marvellous quips that interject themselves between rolling guitar riffs.

No Plans was the first song we’d written after coming off a long stretch of touring and summed how we felt at the time,” said the band of the track. “It’s about throwing three shits to the wind and seeing what sticks.”

Joining the Dunies will be heavy-hitter West Thebarton, who hails from the hallowed halls of Adelaide. I mean, anyone who wears an Idles shirt in one of their music videos shouldn’t have to prove that they know what good music sounds like, this show is going to be absolutely bonkers.

To top it all off, Miss June will be joining the party, which is good luck for us, but maybe not for them, as they prepare to release their debut album Bad Luck Party this September.
