2020 is the year of the rat, and Dune Rats have wasted no time in making this year their own. With their latest full-length LP, Hurry Up and Wait, the band have smashed multiple records.

It’s been three years since Dune Rats have released an album and clearly it’s been worth the wait.

Coming in at #1 on the ARIA Album Charts, #1 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts, #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Charts and landing a spot as the triple j feature album, it is clear as day that the Dunies are back in business with their brand new project.

Here are some congratulatory statements made by the band and their faithful supporters in the wings.

“Dune Rats have made an incredible record that is truly deserving of making chart history. For Dune Rats and BMG to have the first Australian #1 record of the decade is a real statement that artists can own and control their own master recordings without sacrificing world-class A&R support and a flawlessly executed international marketing strategy. A huge congratulations to BC, Brett, Danny and Matty from Team Dunies and Craig, Bridie and Jodie and all of our incredible team at BMG.“ said Heath Johns, Managing Director of BMG Australia and New Zealand.

“Super stoked on the ARIA Number 1 for Dune Rats – Hurry Up And Wait!! A true testament to a really great record and to all of the hard work from Danny, BC, Brett, BMG and the whole team to take it to the world. In some pretty incredible company on the chart which just makes this moment even more amazing – a proper win for Aussie music! If this inspires just one kid to pick up a guitar and write a song then happy days all round! Massive year ahead for the boys both here in Australia and around the world and having this kind of support at home is a huge boost to the band. Thank you to everyone that has supported Dunies and this album, it’s means so much to all of us,” said Matty Woo, Dune Rats manager.

“Beyond stoked our album has landed at number 1 in the country!! We want to thank everyone who supports our band – this one’s going straight to the pool room! We owe you all a beer!!” said the band themselves.
