Former Sticky Fingers frontman Dylan Frost has faced court over an apprehended violence order.
As reported by The Daily Telegraph, Frost and his partner, Elyssa Ford, fronted Waverley Court to fight the cross AVO put on them by police, after neighbours reported a loud argument between the couple.
The pair’s lawyer, Chris Ford, described it as a “simple argument,” and said the police liaison was concerned because they heard a “tussle on the phone.”
“Neighbours became concerned it must have been a bit noisy,” he said.
“There are no allegations of violence, intimidation or threats.”
Judge Michael Barko reportedly said in court, “of all the deaths and disasters in the world, I have to deal with someone arguing over a phone.”
The AVO applications were adjourned until December; it is expected to be dropped if no further issues with Frost and Ford are reported.
Frost and Ford did not comment outside of court, though the musician said “Love is the key, love is the answer.”
Frost officially left Sticky Fingers in 2025 after a number of controversies. In 2016, the singer was accused of making racist taunts at an Indigenous band’s gig in Sydney, which Sticky Fingers called a “massive misunderstanding” at the time.
Then in 2018, when discussing some of the controversies on triple j’s Hack programme, Frost said during a response, “And in the past… violence in my past under the influence, I guess, you know, fucking boys will be boys, you know?”
In 2023, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard dropped off the Bluesfest lineup because of Sticky Fingers’ inclusion on the bill, saying in a statement, “We are deeply disappointed to be in this position but sometimes you need to be willing to make sacrifices to stand up for your values.”
Sticky Fingers’ last album came in 2022 with Lekkerboy.
